Dvd Drive Help

Hi guys i have my step fathers 360. Come to find out my lil brother forced the drive open and busting the dvd drive.
I took a look at it and there where a few gears that got broke off. can i get a old cd drive and replace the gears with those or do i need to go about buying a used drive? The gears was the bigone that opens the tray and the one the little pully bad sits on. thanks

It depends a bit. You might have to buy used drive (same as the broken one), but if you have some CD drives somewhere, you could always try using gears from them. It might can break your drive, but if it's completely looking the same, it should work.
