Help My Xbox 360 Ram
« on: March 06, 2009, 03:52:00 AM »

Ok here is my previous thread I dont wanna say everything again

http://xbox-experts....h...&p=848#p848

I actually didnt do a reflow... But it kept freezing and 3rrod with 0102 came back.... Since it was a prob in the ram I took a 1.2 or .5m[/s]m high penny(I am from Sri Lanka) and placed it over the two rams under the heatsink... After few days it failed adjusted screws and worked again.... Then again yetserday rrod came back.... I tightened the screws more but nothing so I heated the mobo with the hair dryer for 10 mins(I knw it was dumb and it wasnt reflowed) now I have RROD with 0110 **** yeah!! Took the son of a b**** apart and found the right ram (not the one near to Southbridge) a little bit lowered in the right side... DID some more inspection and holy shit I found a crack in the corner of the ram so it seems like it is cracked from the corner................... I have a extra xenon mobo can I use a ram chip from tht  mobo in my zephy one...

I have done it with a heat gun its a pain in the butt but you can do it

a bg station and a reball is the best way but $1200+ most do not have to spare for the station

Removing the RAM chip is a very risky thing to do.  Unless your a professional and have the right equpment(reballing machine) i wouldnt dare try and remove it. Try reflowing your motherboard.

Follow this heatgunning guide. .

http://xbox-experts....p?n=heatgunisol

And dont just try to reflow the RAM just because if you only heat up one part of the mobo it will flex and cause further problems. Also, dont try using a hairblower it doesnt get 50% of the required temperature to reflow.

Heat up the ram chip and remove it, do the same for the one on the xenon board. Align the ram chip and heat it up. Ta da?

No need to have solder balls????

Just put the RAM on top and re heat???
