Why is it a shitty reason?

I don't really understand what this "zomg thief!!1" bitching is all about. Yes, they're making their own version of the same system, even with possibly stolen information but I believe CK3 will still be cheaper than the Maximus Xtractor. Without CK3, methinks Maximus Xtractor would be close to a $80-$100 pricetag with this feature. Also, what would the alternative be for having a security system like this or some fuses in the device? To simply not have anything just because the competition already did it? Seriously, wtf people.

+ 1. Nice point.

nice of them to give me credit for what I figured out over a month ago and have been doing for over a month with maximus xtractor tool, way to go TX for stealing ideas!!

Do you actually realise how pathetic and bitter that sounds.. Honestly.
It called progression, see the car industry.. and abs, airbags etc etc..

This happens in every single industry, so why should this be so different, you are arguing about people copying ideas of devices that are used to rip of companies, Oh i forget 100% of the customers use these to play 'legal' backups.

I see this every times there is a xecuter/maxiums post.. why bother?

I hate this, but i want to post a pic of the Waaaaahhhbulance. IPB Image

well, it doesn't matter what you think, it matter's what I think, I did allot of research and testing to find the correct PPTC's to use, but if your going to use something give credit where it is due, don't make an announcement and act like you devised this great plan all by yourself.  I should have patented the idea, LOL.

Competition is great it keeps prices down, but the fact remains they have not come up with there own idea in a long time, they take what other people have done, make a few changes and act like they have been working on it forever.

Since T-X owns most of the Xbox-scene they get coverage, oh well, money talks.

Neither product is the best and they will continue to evolve and become better, it would be nice to be able to share ideas with one another, but its not going to happen, competition prevents that.

The comments on air bags and stuff is completely left field, those are all patented, and automakers' pay for the patent to use the item and technology, otherwise they would be sued, it is the American way of life.

WTF are you jabering about?  i firmly believe it it wasnt for xecuter we wouldnt even have a scene to be part off, yeah even in the days off the original xbox they where blagging ideas off other people, but doesnt 99.9% of people in a trade do that? Xecuter have done a lot for the scene over the years, i bet half of the xecuter haters that bought a xenium or smart xx cus they hated xecuter still used a xecuter bios.

At the end of the day, you obvioisly work or live with maximus so your gonna be biased.

As a customer YOU have a CHOICE whether you buy a product. Why does THIS scene have to be so fucking negative all the time. Bitching and slagging each other off, you dont see ford and nissan acting like this.

If you dont like a product simply dont buy it, and fucking grow up.

but TX shut down their forum registrations since their PL issues, this is unacceptable. It is sad but they will most likely loose very minimal amounts of business due to this until it all but forgotten.

The forums were closed way before the issues that BOTH connectivity kits have came to light, at the end of the day if you cannot even plug a cable in the right way round should you even be attempting to modify your xbox?

Matt

PS i dont mean you personally.

Then why did the not bother to reply to my email?

Look at my video on page one, does that look like the power cable is the wong way?

No,

It looks like, even when I switch it to off the power LED stays on.

They closed the forums for one reason only, to limit complaints.

Matt,

I was not even talking about the DVD power cable or the molex, I was talking about the USB cable.  Which brings up another question, this is probably lame, but why not use a SATA power cable?  That is probably a really ignorant question, but those are impossible to plug in upside down.  The point of the matter is that the PL chips are burning out without anything else plugged into them.  I know a lot of people probably still have RS232, if it even works after the USB burns out, but that technology is becoming quite antiqued.  Anyways this is not an argument, I just rather not sound uninformed when I make statements, so questions are my primary ammo.  Thanks.

Like i said i wasnt talking about your case, the fact is most of the problems with both connectivity kits are from user error.

Also they use a molex power connector because every pc has a molex power connection, but not all off them have a sata power plug. molex are also pretty hard to put upside down, if you have to force somthing as hard you would have to wouldnt you just stop and ask yourself, is this right?

just my opinion.

Matt

oh and to jonko, its not just you, xecuter have never replied to emails, they always said to use the forums for support, unfortatley this is not possible if the forums are closed. :-) catch 22 really.

From Maximus (his website)

2-FEB-09
RESETABLE FUSES IS NOT NEW !!! COMPETITORS COPIED US AGAIN !!!
Since 2 months ago we started shipping the version 1.2 of Xtractor that included Fuses on the design, this prevented drive/xtractor/computer damage due to wrong polarity plugging of the dvd cable. After weeks of use we got a suggestion (vgcrepairs) to change the fuse with Resettable PTC fuses that give us great success. Unfortunatelly some of the testers leaked the info to the competitors and now they are announcing like if was their design idea. We just want to settle who is the team that bring the ideas and who is the team that just copy all of them. If they dont take our idea they would keep blowing drives with their current design.

We are shipping the Xtractor with Resettable fuses to all resellers worldwide. And we are doing that since 1 week. If you are careful with the plugging/unplugging of the dvd cable you dont have nothing to worry with current xtractor you already have it.

We have another major announcement to do in a few days more, stay tuned.

Can you say DRAAAAAMAAAAAA. I'm kinda neutral, I love Xecuter's work in the xbox scene from day one, and Maximus has a lot to give the community as well...but posts like this just show that the Maximus team is a bunch of girls. People steal ideas, or improve on them daily.

Personally, as much as I like Maximus, I feel I am obligated to boycott Maximus now. Really? Is this necessary?

To top it off, no offence people, but if you plug the cable in upside down you are a ****ing idiot and deserve to have a broken xbox. There are professional modders out there that charge less than it will cost you to buy this hardware required to flash anyways.

Use your mellons people!
