My 360's Disc Drive has blown..

I heard a little ping sound and smelt something burn. Now when I press the eject button, it don't work but everything else does. No power goes to the drive.

I tried another drive I had laying around and that was working but obviously it isn't for my current 360 so wont work.

Can I get it repaired or do I need a replacement.

PS, Can't send it to MS because I voided my warranty by changing the case etc.
