ok i successfully flashed my WD1200BEVS - 00RST0 drive on my VIA 8237 onboard using port 1 and hddhackr 0.91 and a hddss.bin from my friends elite which he never goes on live with
after shut down and 10 seconds it says "drive should now work in your 360." so i put it in my 360 using the internal wires i have soldered in, which have been testing on a m$ 20gb drive to work correctly. i am powering the drive off the cdrom connector with wires soldered underneath the mobo.  anyway, the drive when hooked to the internal connectors stops the 360 cold. the power light comes on and the screen will flicker every minute or so. when its hooked up to the side with an external m$ drive carrier it loads the bios (white xbox symbol screen) and then E68. both connections have been tested with the same 20gb m$ drive and work fine! i searched until 5am last night trying to find a solution to this and didnt come up with anything... any help?

well i seem to have fixed the problem... this was after i completely redid everything twice (soldered new wires and stuff) but it worked before with the 20gb  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)  lol? anyway, speculate if you wish otherwise case closed
