anyone else think $35 is WAYYYYYY too much shipping for a $15 xclamp repair kit?

i was about to go for a purchase at vgcrepairs and seen the shipping cost.

fuck that.

you guys might want to consider finding a better north american supplier

$35??  U must be not be in USA, the reason is because we only ship international via EMS express it is the only method the post office offers with door to door tracking.

I hate to bump old threads, but, I just did this mod and let me tell you. I replaced the xclamp with the screws and washers, I cleaned the thermal paste and added arctic silver 5, did the fan shroud mod, swapped the heat sinks from a falcon and also added an extra fan basically on top of the gpu.
Well after all that I saw at least a 10 degree drop on my Zephyr.

Anyone looking for some extra cooling, I suggest doing this mod.

Was it really the top notch 'expert' advice like "Then tighten all screws up to the maximum with a screwdriver" that dropped your temperature or was it perhaps the new paste, fan shroud mod, and extra fan that increased cooling?
