Soldering Points On Lite-on Drives

Great question i would also like to know this answer like if it is detectable so to unsolder them again afterwards or just leave them.

No, you don't have to unsolder them.

If you look at the power connector, there are two missing wires that would go to the solder connection points if they were there.

Oh sorry I assumed you just meant the two solder connection on the board (r707&r708, the 3.3 and ground have to come off yes but the two soldered pads can remain soldered as they lead to nowhere on the original DVD power cable.

 

The way I do it is with a CK2 and a serial TTL convertor with IDE wires soldered onto the serial TTL and just poke them into the 3.3 andGND on the dvd power adpator and R707

I kind of thought so tongue.gif  So the R707&R708 is just a bridge, meaning I just apply solder in the middle to the both of them, right?  I'm just trying to be careful because in the pictures the two points don't look bridged.

I actually just bought this:

I figured I can just do someone elses console and it will pay off itself.  Therefore, I dont need to worry about those two points, right?
