get the newest firmware toobox(4.8 I guess) and iXtreme 1.4 for Hitachi.
Put the Hitachi in MODEB using the SLAX disc, and then boot to windows(for more information on this just use google)...

Then load the hitachi firmware in toolbox, insert the key and save from the liteon key.bin.
Afterwards go to the spoof drive tab and choose the custom lite on tab where it lets you select a file, choose the INQUIRY.BIN for this step.
When you are done with it close the thing.
Open the prepared firmware file up again and check if the key and spoof string have been saved properly etc...
If this is the case flash the hitachi with the toolbox.
Make sure that you do not select the fucking internal flasher if the drive is not connected to an onboard sata port(like VIA card) then it will brick the drive, thats what happened to me when I used the shit the first time, forgot to read the small warning....
Thats it.

If you have anymore questions look for the answers in the FAQ noob section, google etc...

Small warning: Only BenQ drives can be used to replace Liteon drives 100%.

Hitachi and Samsung replacement drives do not return the SS completely correctly when spoofed as a Liteon.

In the future this may prove a problem for Xbox Live and/or future dashboard updates.

Finally, C4E, Geremia, Tiros et al are close to dumping Liteon firmware, releasing iXtreme Liteon firmware, and a software flashing tool... so it may be well worth hanging on to every Liteon you have.
