What i find really annoying about this kit is the fact Xecuter has shipped them out and they have been sold on without any guides on using them.
They started putting up guides to the Hitatchi etc yesterday and then said they had done the benq guide and the lite-on was the easiest of them all, strange that neither the benq or liteon guides made it up yesterday.
I do have a fair idea what i have to do but will wait for the guide to come out before attempting it.

Also the fact that registration is disabled on their forums, seems to me they do not want the bad press involved in not offering the information on how to use their own products.

I will post back when i have done the drive swap etc and how easy/hard it is with the Lite kit.

Well i gave up on the xecuter team releasing the lite on tutorials so had a go myself.

1. Soldered the 2 points on the drive circuit board
2. Grabbed the liteon firmware in winxp using dvdkey32 0.4 (took a couple of attempts but no probs) this was with sata to xbox drive and power from the ck3
3 Attached samsung and setup using iprep and made boot disk etc
4 No matter how i did it i could not get the m28 to read firmware, tried 10 sec trick 0800enable everything. Used nforce430 and via8239 boards still no joy. (found drive but stuck on status 51)
5 after searching hi and low i saw someone mention using the drive from the xbox power lead (i thought this is what the ck3 cut out???????) and after 4 hours effing around with the ck3 it only worked with the xbox power. got the status 51 turned xbox off and on and voila read firmware and saved.
6, injected the liteon key into the iw extreme samsung firmware,  spoofed with inquiry.bin
7 flashed again via method 5
8 checked everything and works like a charm

So is the CK3 any good with the exerience i had NO

May have been easier with a guide but none available.

I had my first experience with CK3 Lite yesterday.

Everything went fairly smooth, i didn't need the Lite-On guides from team xecuter at all...
The process is easy to do and there's so many info available out there, that's it's  really no excuse if team xecuter doesn't release the tuts.

The process was roughly like this:

1-Take your drive of the console and unscrew the bottom cover off.
2-Hook the drive to the CK3 an hook the CK3 to an extra molex plug on you PC. (leave sata cable unplugged).
3-Turn on CK3 and eject press eject. It should eject the drive.
4-Press eject again and quickly turn off your CK3 before the drive tray closes completely (1 or 2 cms from closing).
5-Manually pull the tray so it remains half open.
6-Plug in the sata cable to your via card (or any other compatible sata port) and the serial to you COM1 port (normally near the keyboard and mouse sockets) on the PC.
7-Get a small piece of solder (3mm long and 1mm wide should do) and a piece of duct tape. Stick the piece of solder to the tape and then bridge r707 (don't need to bridge any other thing). When retrieving the key, gently press down on the solder to make a better contact.
8-Get the drive key with your favorite software. (i used 360 Xtractor Reader 2.3)

That's all you need to get the key of the drive, which is the new part for everyone that has been flashing drives but never did a Lite-On spoof.

After that you just need to extract the original firmware of your replacement drive, patch it with ixtreme (like you do when you're flashing) and then use Drive Switcher to make the key spoof (with your extracted key) to that patched firmware.
They you just flash that spoofed+patched firmware to your replacement drive and that's it!

Ok, I am completely new to flashing the xbox hard drive with firmware, but I j=have a quick question. If you do flash your hard drive with the new firmware, will you still be able to play on xbox live without getting banned?
