Hey guys,

I have an XBOX that I've fixed with the penny trick, all went well till after a few months when it went back to the 'ol 0102 error.

Decided to X-Clamp it etc, worked again albeit for a few hours.

Shows a 0020 error, so I went "argh, time to bring out the big guns (Heatgun).

Following wilhelmI's tutorial of covering the sensitive areas appropriately, absolutely no capacitors blew or showed signs of raised lid and no heatsinks were on it.

But then faced with 0001 until after a few seconds later to 0003.

Could it be the cause of....... solders bridging in the cpu or gpu even if there were no heatsinks on?

Would the voltmeter / volt current tester help me find the problem?  (Not sure where to start.)

Before its thrown out lol, why do I have bad luck with this? haha

Oh well.

Oh well.

Scan the mainboard thoroughly for any parts(caps resistors etc) that might have moved away/become loose/cold/ are shorting out now.
Take your time for that.
Also check the components on CPU and GPU if they only move away by a millimeter they can trigger this issue...
Then go on with the "volt meter", send RDC a PM he can tell you the values you should get etc...

Okay, Will do, I'll try to take a good photo of the mainboard to help me point out what is wrong.

And thanks for helping, you have been a great asset to the xbox community, much appreciated,

Cheers smile.gif
