Just do the DPAD mod with a flathead screwdriver.  Carve out the edges so the round edges of the DPAD have more room to go.

The dpad looks the same.  They havnt appeared to have changed the design whatsoever.  Perhaps it may be a little more repsonisve, but the overall design of the dpad is still flawed.

Man-up and license the Nintendo Dpad patent.  Stick a full sized snes dpad on the 360 controller and we'll be happy.

I've used controllers that were like that. Trust me, for one reason or another the dpad can become a bit loose and will then be hitting walls before it can make contact.  You actually have to move the dpad left to have confidence that you can register a right push on most pads.
