oh.... Ok my bad.  Well, after 10 minutes the whole mobo was cool enough to touch and i thought that was enough, also may I ask how far am I suppose to hold the heat gun up from the board?  Thank you very much for your help, I'll reflow those mobo again and let you know what happens

And another question that's been bothering me, is it okay if i leave the heat sink of the cpu attached while I reflow the GPU -> Southbridge area?

Nope, heat will still go over there.
It will most likely not do any damage since you are not directing the air at it.
However even though the solder wont get hot enough to melt the heatsink will easily reach a temperature over a 100°C by the rest that goes over there...
The thermal compound can only be used up to a 100°C after that it looses its conductivity so you will have to reapply thermal compound anyway if you dont want to see the 2 red lights once you are done...

I did EXACLY what you told me to, but still  E 73 on both consoles... Perhaps the ethernet port itself is problem?  The next thing i will do is to reflow the southbridge -> ethernet chip area, if it still fails then I'll try to replace the ethernet port, what do you think?

I doubt the actual Ethernet connector is bad, unless it looks damaged in some way.

Use my heatgunning tutorial and focus on Southbridge and GPU, this will take care of it, the Southbridge is the silver chip with the xbox 360 logo near the sata connector...

The link to my tutorial is in my signature...

QUOTE(Wilhelm_I @ Aug 15 2008, 08:00 AM) *

you are supposed to do the bottom 1min preheat,  4 minutes on high.
The you wait for it to cool down for 45 minutes!(for 10 minutes they will still not be completely cool and you risk breaking them when you move the board around...)
Then isolate the top and do the same procedure for the top 1min preheat 4 minutes on high.
This worked for all 360s so far if you only do it for 3 minutes it wont reflow completely it will at first work and then break again after a couple of days...

hello mate i have a few questions hope its ok i just readed your post about reflow for e73 problem can you answer please this questions?

1-  1 min in 300c  preheat botton... then 4 min 500c botton high   ?  wait 45min
2-  same think again at the top but isolate and do the same?

its right at 300c and then 500c?

and how long the gun from the mother board in cm ?

or you mean all the way in 300c low and high?

thanx for any answer mate
