My research made my come to the conclusion that 0022 is a bridged solder joint under the GPU(like 0020) + a broken connection to the ana-chip(aka E74 or 1022).
Your findings pretty much underline that...
Heatgun the area from the ana-chip to the GPU for like 4 minutes until the solder reflowed(from both sides), make sure you isolate it properly otherwise you will blow come caps...
After that just apply the X Clamp replacement but without any pressure because if you bend the board it might break again so leave it as loose as possible and only tighten the screws as much as necessary....
Here is a nice tutorial I wrote for that.

So far I have fixed 3 xboxes with that error and they are still going strong...

I should change the title to:

Rrod->0022->0020->0022 -> 0021

Heatgunned the area you talked about and now I got a new 0021!

Been doin a little research on it, seems to be southbridge related...same error that killed my last xbox sad.gif

Doesn't look too good...

Yepp Southbridge->GPU related heatgun the area from the Southbridge to the GPU, this fixed it for all so far...
Actually the best idea might be to give it a complete reflow (because you are so lucky wink.gif )like shown in the tutorial just reflow CPU GPU ANA Southbridge RAM etc

MY heatgun has two settings, one for 250C and one for 450C...I generally work my way into the 450 one, so how long do you think it would take to reflow at that temperature?

Mine is like 250°C and 500°C
I always preheat it with the 250°C for a minute, then I switch to  500°C and do it for another 3-4 minutes
Make sure you remove the heatsink and isolate everything properly like in my tutorial or the caps will pop.

Where can i get that plastic wrap? i have aluminum foil but nothing looking like your plastic wrap.

I just did X-clamp fix to my RROD 0020 and i still have the error. I looked under the mobo for certain caps being loose and they all seem soldered well. Any help? I also dont think i have a heatgun :/
