Using A Dvd Drive From A Different 360
« on: June 21, 2008, 11:17:00 PM »

Ok, so I flashed one of my 360's yesterday.  Today I go to try to make my first backup and WHAMM!  It no longer displays video and gives me these dancing greyish dots all over the screen.  I posted on the newbie forums and found out it is either the scaler chip or ram.  However, until then I can fix it (if possible) I want to use my Hitachi 47DJ that I flashed in my 360 I use for live.  I understand I will have to change the drive key, but I am not sure about how to go about doing it.

I do know that my 360 that just died is a Hitachi 47DJ while the 360 I want to use the drive in is a Hitachi 59.

In the end I want to be able to:

1) Have both drives external
2) Have power/sata cables come out of 360 to swap drives as needed.

I have the original key/firmware from the 47DJ, but I don't have the original key/firmware from the 59.  How would i go about retrieving the key from the drive without firmware flashing it.  I want to use the 59 stock since it is the drive that came with that 360, but flash the 47DJ with Ixtreme 1.4.

Any help is greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance guys!

You don't have to flash the v59, but you are going to have to dump the FW from it to get the key to be able to use your v47 drive with that 360. Then you'll need to restore the v47 drives FW to stock and inject the v59 drives key in to it, then reflash/spoof as a v59 and yer done.
