Xbox 360 Hard Drive Transfer Kit
« on: May 26, 2008, 02:46:00 PM »

I was just wondering how many people were aware that the adapter is just a SATA to USB adapter in disguise?  Since the adapter has Microsoft's proprietary connector on it then you can just hook up your XBox 360 drive to your computer to do what you want with it without removing the drive from the protective case.

I got it with the new 120GB drive I picked up yesterday.  After the transfer I hooked up the adapter and my old 20GB drive to my laptop and found that it was detected fine.  Xplorer360 detected the drive fine except I found that (as expected) all my old data had been removed from it.  Makes sense since it was all moved over to my new 120GB.

You should be able to find them on ebay however I saw one was being sold at $50.  Kinda expensive for something that is supposed to be used one time then thrown out.

P.S. - This means that if you have one keep it!
