I Think My Dvd Drive Is F***ed

when i pot tweaked my 360 i got from a friend for 40$ i did it and when i was done not knowing that i didnt connect the white headed cable in all the way turned it on and pop pop and bad smell i was like oh shit but the xbox still works just the dvd drive is fucked can i still maybe get a new drive and replace it via flashing old drive or is it just fubar? i hope i can flash it still  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grr.gif)

Is the middle light flashing?
Can you still eject the drive?
If you are lucky your PCB board isnt damaged and you can either just swap it with the one of the new drive(if it is the same manufacturer) or you dump the key from your fucked up drive and flash the new drive with it...
