Anyways is it possible I still may have a heat problem with my gpu? I mean i play without the case on, xclamp mod, fresh cleaning and reapplying thermal paste...should I go for the 12v mod? I know I'm like a broken record but I'm hoping someone can read this and give me advice.

Well, you may have to do the same thing I am going to have to do.  Heat gun the ram chips to reflow the bga solder.  It'a PIA but it may be my only hope to getting it working again.  Sucks too, as this has never happened until now.  If and when I get it done, I'll let you know what the outcome is.

Oddly enough, I just overheated the mobo via the xclamp replacement tutorials, tightened up the HS's just a tad and applied very mild pressure on each of the exposed ram chips and low and behold, it boots and plays games.  I am sure it is only temporary, but weirder things have happened.  i'll keep ya updated.

Fixed it!

For anyone following along, I finally figured out the problem. Seems that even playing without a case and the xclamp mod, my gpu was still overheating. I did the 12v mod on my fans and the fanshroud mod and I finally can play GTA!
