If it is the same exact model as your broken one .. Yes

You just have to take the logic board out of the broken one, and put in in your working DVD drive ..

My Advise would be to ditch the crap Hitachi drive all together.

get this drive, far better at reading burnt media and will last longer.

little more price but for peice of mind i would pay it.
dont forget the minute you flash it with the latest Ixtreme it will turn into a MS28 drive.
then all you do is add your key to the firmware and spoof it to the same HITACHI you have.

I just replaced my samsung for a BENQ but you can only get those from Ebay, and shipped from HONGKONG...

im going to be replacing it though with my old samsung and a new laser i ordered becuse for some reason the BENQ drive at the minute have GTA IV Problems.
