Dvd Drive Replacement Question
« on: January 30, 2013, 03:54:00 PM »

You need to replace it with the same model (ie another BenQ).  You used to be able to 'spoof' the new drive, but you no longer can do that.

Dvd Drive Replacement Question
« Reply #1 on: February 21, 2013, 12:09:00 PM »

please allow me to piggy back a question onto this thread since im in a similar situation..

I have a LiteOn that has a dying laser.. i have 3 RRODd xboxes sitting in the closet with perfectly working drives... but I dont think any of them are LiteOns.. I think I have a m25 in there and a Hitachi...

When you say that it can no longer be spoofed, is that because it just wont read anything? Or do you mean that teh xbox will be banned? the xbox is already banned so I dont care about bannings... no way to use those drives?

The Live issue is the big one.  If you are already banned then no big deal.  I think you may have issue with some XGD3 games not working though.  Try it and see...

Thanks mate... any chance you (or anyone else) has a link to a nice guide to do this? I've never spoofed 360 stuff before?
