Drive Returns 0x80? Now Computer Doesn't Recognize.
« on: December 07, 2012, 06:37:00 PM »

So I purchased a new Lite-On drive after my previous one shat itself. The drive is manufactured July 2012. It is a LITEON DG-16D2S A0A1 74850C. My first attempt in JungleFlasher to Lite-On Erase posted a "drive doesn't match barcode" error, which I have never seen before, but I ignored it and continued on to the other warnings about the drive key and clicked erase. Erase failed and the drive is now unrecognizable and returns "device intro failed. Status 0x80."

Drive does not open, is this not a 74850C? Have I burned the drive? Rebooting computer does not allow it to open or close. Using CK3 mini which works perfectly for my Hitachi 079 and my old Lite-On.

I'm hoping I am not screwed, literally just pulled this drive out of the bubble wrap.

And no, I did not retrieve nor do I need the DVD key, at least according to the tutorials.

No dice. Drive does not recognize at all. Sent intro command to every SATA port I have. Nothing.

I have two different computers, both are perfectly capable of flashing the old Lite-On and the two Hitachis I have. Who wants to buy this piece of shit drive? I've spent three days reading this forum, Team Executer's forums, 7sins etc. and absolutely no work around solves the problem. The drive is in vendor mode with no flash, it will not allow me to read or write to the drive.

*EDIT* Fixed. Had to use older version of JungleFlasher.... 1.84 I believe? My 1.91 must be corrupted or something.

Quite clearly they are NOT perfectly capable of flashing LiteOn's. There is NOTHING diffrent to this new drive to the old ones. But clearly your SATA controller is not one of the recommended.
Seriously stop complaining and bitching and do as your are told and get a X360USB Pro. That will sort it for you.
