jf guide is 100% up to date.  obviously you will have to update your 360 or its gonna become kinda worthless quick.

So then the ONLY way to mod a slim is to buy or modify a pcb?

Are you being sarcastic saying that this leaves out the original method where you did not have to modify the pcb, OR that the JF guide left out a method?

the other way to mod the drive is to go on craigslist and find the most reputable person in your area and let them do it for u so u don't break your xbox.

I know how to solder, have all the tools, and I have modded over 20 phat 360's. I am in no way worried about messing it up, I just have NEVER been inside a slim 360 nor do I know anything about the drives they come with so I was asking.

A friend wants me to do his for him so I was just trying to find out if I needed anything additional which it seems I do. From reading it looks like all slim's require some sort of pcb modification.

MCXIX you cut, winbond u drill.  if u screw up, buy an unlock board.  be sure to dump the drive b4 u operate.  its redundant, but i dump a dummy b4 i operate and an ofw after i unlock so i am double covered.
