the most economic solution would be to use PCI via 6421. Im sure there are converters PCie to pci.

If you have an old laptop running PCMCIA, I have a Cardbus to express card sata adapter. I'll let it go for $30.

Thanks for the replies. Could I just get CK3 or Maximus (URLs below) or do they still require a compatible SATA chipset like a 6421?

Neither of those will help you with getting sata to the drive. You'll either need an adapter for your 6421 or go the X360 USB Pro or use another PC

360usb pro is not required for phat drives AT ALL

via 6421 will flash ALL phat drives no problem.

A sata to usb adaptor would probably do the job. And this would work for flashing slim dvd drives if you ever get a slim.
