I just got my hands on slim with a liteon 0225 drive and the old dash 2.0.13604.0. The first thing i want to do is dump the key but then what? After i dump the key there's no use in flashing because i will loose the flash after i update. I won't be able to flash after the update due to the drive being locked right? If i just flash and don't update i won't be able to play any new games. Is my only option the xkey?

you dont state whether your drive is running cfw or ofw presently,
all 0225 were factory locked
if any slipped thro the net they were checked to be locked with the 13599 update
your dash is later than that,
so your drive is locked end of story,
ms cant rewrite your fw, its locked.
updating with cfw you run the risk of running into a update loop or flagging your box.
ideally dump your fw get a dummy.bin, using slimkey
update dash with stock fw
flash with latest lt plus 3.0
either way you are going to need kamikazi/sputnik or replacement pcb to write
fw to the drive.

ok, thanx. i didnt realize irt was locked already. i'll just leave it stock, atleast i know i wont get banned that way, lol.
