hi there,

just updated a samsung ms25 drive with the new samsung LT-sammy-v2.01.bin
i saw in jungleflasher that is whas for a ms28 drive...
but i would spoof to ms25...

put the drive back, start the xbox.
it will see the modern warfare ( original ) icon in the dashboard.
i can say play game.
then i get an error that the game is unreadable.

what do i need to do to fix this.

gr kloenie

Just treat the drive as an MS28 as all MS25 dives become MS28 once flashed, also a little bit more info would help from you as regards what you did. i.e did you restore to original f/w before flashing and what dashboard are you on. Also when jungleflasher asks you to auto load cfw just say no and manually search for the firmware.

i just read the lt+ 1.0 firmware, got the key.

did not do autoload the firmware.
just looked for the firmware, put in the key and wrote the firmware.
outro the drive and put it back.

( have not tested the drive with a backup game )

You didnt read the jungleflasher guide so i suggest you do so, and its essential you know what dashboard the consoles on. Remember the drive is a MS28 now once it was flashed.

In the manual/jungleflasher tut it clearly states the procedure for flashing the samsung which you didnt follow, if its got the very latest update on it then you will have to wait for LT3.0 to be released.

Samsung users don't need to be concerned with LT+3.0 because as everyone knows Samsung drives are incapable of reading ap2.5. LT+3.0 is being released to finally defeat ap2.5. Samsung was never in that game.

I'm sorry to say but OP is right as far as I can tell. I have a ms28 flashed with lt+2.01 that's in the beta dash program and one day (11/16) MW3 backup (mkm-001 PI max:12 PIF max:2) played fine, even after getting a new beta dash update. The next day (11/17) I began getting unreadable disc errors. Something is awry. I suspect there will need to be a new LT+v3.0 for most drives, including sammys.

I hope I'm wrong though. The fewer drives I have to update the better.

I have two 47 hitachis and a Sammy MS25 flashed as an MS28.  All my games are burned with a flashed iHAS drive on Verbatims at 4x.  Sammy works fine 100% of the time with all my XGD3 burns.  Had to replace both lasers in the 47s to get them booting XGD3 reliably with LT+ 2.0.  They booted XGD2 and originals without fail every time.   So naturally I thought that there was something wrong with the firmware.  Then I pot tweaked one of them which enabled some XGD3 titles to work.  I learned that Hitachis are the worst drives Microsoft ever put in the 360.  Interestingly enough, they share the same laser component with Samsungs.  So it wouldn't surprise me if OPs issue is directly caused by:  using cheap media, improper burn, or a dying laser lens.

OP, you can try the laser pot tweak and see if it helps, but I would recommend ordering a new laser.  They can be found for 5 bucks shipped on Amazon.  You can order one for a Sammy or any model Hitachi and it will work fine in your console.  Also, reflash your drive.  Do not use Spoof Source to Target with your OFW dump as Source.  Just open the Sammy LT 2.01 firmware as target and copy your drive key into the target DVD key field.  Then flash it like normal.  Spoofing it as an MS25 will net you the E66 error when you update your console if you don't flash back to stock every time.  Annoying as piss.
