I dont do live that often.. last time was bout 2 weeks ago,  hopefully thats not the case , Ill check the other post how to verify if ive been hit with dae.bin update.  I mainly wanted to know if there were hitachi 79 users that have been playing xdg3 backups with lt2.0?

Hi I have the same problem. I have Flashed my Hita 79 to ix2.0. I wrote  Rage (xgd3) game with new IMGburn to Verbatim, 2.4 write speed. When I insert the disk, first I get black Screen, after that There is an error message with Inrecognized Disk error. My early games works perfectly.
I have never been online!

Guys,

Not sure if this is your issue, but I finally got one of my Hitachi 47 drives reading XGD3 backups last night on LT 2.0 after messing with the laser pot settings.  I had two backups left over that were burned truncated and never re-burned them.  Space Marine and Gears 3.  Neither one of them worked in the Hitachi and it came up with the same error symptoms.  Would say Play Game for a split second and then act like it was going to launch only to get dirty disc then unrecognizable.  Only iHAS fully burned discs worked (Skyrim, Batman AC, Halo CE, BF3).  Both truncated backups still booted fine in my 2.01 Samsung console.

I managed to find a iHAS 124 drive on sale for $20 delivered ... Hitachis may have an issue with truncated burns from non-iHAS drives, so I figured I'd try out a new burner first.

There is also supposed to be an update for 79 Hitachis (per C4Eva 11/28)

Thats correct, Hitachi 79 has a bug that is being worked out.

is there any problems with the current 2.0b fw?  i just updated and still can't play xgd3 backups but xgd2 work fine.

yes i did.  I figured out the problem.  It didn't like the burn at 4x, reburnt at 2.4x and its working great.

For all you that are still having issues with Hitachi 79 lt+ 2.0b , make sure you burn with Ihas drive w/ Burner MaX.  All my xdg3 backups booting up fine now. Cheers!

Does that go for rev 46's as well? Flashed one today and it plays old games fine, but not XDG3 games burnt with burner max. Is there any other known problems causing them not to boot? Do you have to do that title update trick if it got the silent update even on hitachis? When trying to boot the games, it sounds like it could be the laser or something as you hear it trying hard to scan it, but then again, it works fine with old games.
