I am trying to flash my 0225 DVD drive using Gerimia drilling hack. i am using my built-in SATA drive (ICH7) and Jungle Flusher. i was able to extract the drive key without any issues. but when i am trying to put the drive in the vendor mode i got an error and the drive status is 0x51. i tried to reboot the PC many times and also i tried to use dosflash 9.1 with no success. can anyone help?

regular chipsets cannot vendor slim drives this is yout problem. you cant get 0x72
this is why x360usbpro is so popular, however there is a work around for via cards that
I believe will work for onboard chipsets as well.
use a usb to sata adaptor and hot swop to your onboard sata as described here

Actually, I am using the XBOX PS to power up to the DVD drive. when it comes to the power cycle I turn-off the XBOX from its power button and then power-on. is it ok to do so or i need another method?

nice way to flag your console for a ban......

never use 360 to power your drive.

also you need a an x360usb to get vendor mode on 0225 drives, onboard sata fails miserably.
