fw for hitachi 79 @4c30 will not boot xgd3 games
if this is the case can you not use fw for a 79 with key at different location 4d20 for example and see if it works?
i am going to try and see what happens.

no go.
crap  i will have to wait until 2.01  or 3.0
all my 79 drives are 4c30 key location.

Can confirm that on a Hitachi 59 with the newest dash/live update, XDG3 discs burned with an iHas burner work.  Although, every so often a burned disc when inserted will get an "Unrecognized Disc" error but then work again when reinserted.  I dunno if that's a disc/burning method thing, if my 59 is starting to crap out on me, or if I need to do something to the drive laser.

I just received my iHas burner yesterday, installed, and burned about 4 different backups.  All have loaded on my 59 without any errors.  To all 59'ers with issues, be sure to update to the latest dash, firmware, and Burner Max firmware so you can burn at 100% (truncated burns have not worked on my 59).

Also having trouble with a V78.
Although I am spoofing mine as a Lite-on PLDS DG-16D2S 83850C.

First time I flashed and tested I was getting the one red light error whenever I tried XGD3 games (burnt correctly not truncated)

I redid the flash process now when I try XGD3 games the screen goes blank, then goes back to dashboard.

Does anybody have any ideas as to whats wrong?

Is it true you cannot play XGD3 games on a spoofed drive? or are some of us with V78's just unlucky?
