C4E's iXtreme LTplus v2.0 for FAT Hitachi drives

Im on a Hitachi 78fk and I tried a burn with IMGBurn. Followed all the steps; told IMGBurn to continue on all the errors and clicked yes to finalize disc. When I try to play the game, no info shows up about the game and when I press "play game" it says the disc is unreadable. My original XGD3 games play without any trouble. Is it a bad burn, or is the same that everyone else is getting?

Well from my understanding is that for the games to work 100% you need to burn complete image on disc and the only way possible is with imax with ihas drive.  Im guessing you dont play on live right.

Theoretically you are correct, but as far as I know no other LT 2 firmware on any other drive model has had problems with truncated discs. It seems weird that c4eva either would not have tested this with the Hitachis, or would not have mentioned that it doesn't work.

No, I'm not playing on Live, so I don't care about safety.

Hitachi 47 drive.

13599 dash ( banned years ago)

Flashed it with both firmware toolbox & jungleflasher with no difference in results.

Xd2 works fine.

Some x3 work, mw3 and saints row the third....... Forza and halo ae do not, originals work fine

Hitachi drives are the worst of worst when it comes to reading.

If you're having problems reading XGD3 backups it's more than likely tough luck. They put a massive strain on the laser of all drives for the first 5-10 seconds with crazy seeking going on (have a listen to the laser on any Xbox 360).

That's the problem, and, it's uncurable.

You could try and adjust the laser's pot to see if it helps.

used JF to rstore my 79 from ixtreme 1.51 to stock and updated 2.0+, Forza truncated doesn't work. Just gives a read error, clean disc etc.

oddly used WinAPI (win7 x64 w/via 6421) in JF to flash the drive but now trying to dump the drive just to get key and FW info blue screens the comp.

xgd2 backups and xgd3 originals work fine

OK, so I just backed up Batman Arkham City and I get the "Disc is unreadable" error...  Again, I'm burning using the truncated method.  I have a Liteon iHas drive on the way.  Will this make a difference if I burn 100%?

I recently bought a new ASUS drive from new egg and replaced my worn out lite on ihas124b drive but the truncate method didn't work for hitachi so I pulled the RF board out of the lite on and put it in the new ASUS since they are identical inside and now I'm burning MW3 to see if it works.
I previously flashed the lite on with the burnermax firmware but all the discs were failing I guess because the drive was worn out.
I'll let you know if it works.

EDIT:

 Works Perfectly with the burnermax.
Hitachi 078.

Like others, I'm having problems with this firmware.

I have a Hitachi 79, spoofed as a Lite-On 83v1.  The drive has performed wonderfully for years, up to and including LT 1.1.
Updating it to 2.0, however, leads to the red ring/E66 error ONLY WITH XGD3 games.  (All my XGD3 backups are BurnerMax, Verbs, not truncated.)

Have flashed the drive with spoofed OSIG, and with stock OSIG, results are the same...  Although not spoofing seems to take the drive longer to error out.

I'm nearly certain that there must be a flaw with JF or the firmware...although that doesn't explain why some people seem to be using it just fine...

No issues here...   flashed a 78 and both XGD2/XGD3 backups are working flawlessly.   Using Burnermax discs (none of that truncated crap).   So far all is well... thanks c4e!

What JF did you use? I'm thinking it might be the version of JF people are using. I've flashed a many of hitachi drives and never had a problem until now. uhh.gif I use the burnermax and verbs and I always flash to stock. So what's the problem?

I just used the newest one v0.1.90 Beta (292).   Actually the original drive for this system was a 46dj and I replaced with a 78fk.  I thought this might cause some problems, but none so far  *fingers crossed*.   Also I restored to stock first before flashing 2.0, and the discs I tested were MW3, SR3, GOW3, all burnt on Ritek discs @2.4x

Now that I'm reading through this thread, it makes me wanna test a little more.  I didn't try Batman or AC Revelations.   There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to why the same games are working for some, but not for others... and on same-model drives too.

That's because you cannot spoof drives when playing XGD3. XGD3 needs the original drive with key. You can however use a samsung under 79 in place of your original drive and inject your original key.
