Although the dae.bin changed in the initial v2.0.14686.0 preview update, its appended challenge was not active, which accounts for why participants were still able to play AP2.5/XGD3 backups
.

Do you think if we update our retail dashboard with updated dae.bin to the beta v2.0.14686.0 dashboard with the old dae.bin will it enable us to play games in offline mode?

How many challenge and responses can there be? Is there any posts somewhere that describe in great detail how this works?

Its worrieng me what X360Key team said, if profiling each game individually is the only solution then CWF days look grim  sad.gif
Take a look at this:

The profiles could be stored on the disc as per usual.  And if there is a finite amount, 1 game profile may suit all consoles and the delegated challanges.  E.g. If there are 1000 unique challanges, individuals may have a random 50 out of that 1000.

Having all on disc 1000 can suit all users.  Pure speculation.

This has been thought of in the days where stealth files came to the attention. One disc with all SS's.
but for the challenges... how many would there be it it is calculated from the angles, that sure is a lot of data to handle..

Yes lets hope it is a legit solution. I could also rip my original again with de DAE from my console, burn it again, go on live, make a video and fool everyone to gve them some hope....

But that would just be possibly only for my own console, let's hope they arent like that wink.gif

Just speculation but I'm pretty sure that the proposed solution by xkey will require you to own the originals of games you want to play backups off. Given that each console has a unique DAE.bin now, the emulator probably needs to "learn" which challenges the console poses. I assume this is what they mean by "profile your disk".

Maybe all XGD3 games will share the same challenges for now, meaning that you will only have to buy/rent one XGD3 game to play all XGD3 games. But that may not be a given and might change in the future.

I obviously hope that I am wrong and that xkey found a proper way to emulate the disk but it most likely will be a per-console solution.

By the way this would be quite hard to achieve using CFW alone since it is a lot harder to output data from a CFW. Doing the profiling in firmware only might be possible but how to get the data out of it? Maybe by creating an emulated directory structure that you have to copy via pen and paper.

Let's all hope that this protection can evantually be fully cracked (as in one profile that works for every console).

I would appreciate if someone with more in-depth knowledge could confirm my suspicion.

According to what I've heard, there will be a database with each profiled original which you then download and then you profile the ISO to fit your own console. You don't have to have the original, just the originals profile.

Where would  ya be getting your dae.bin from?  I suppose if you hooked up a nand-x or what not and got your specific dae.bin what's stopping anyone, just how often would you have to dump it/reburn is the problem... :/
