Return to stock and complete the update from a USB flash drive. Of course, don't spoof either, use the original drive.

Sorry, did'nt mention:

It starts with "last part" of systemupdate and than hangs with error.

USB-Stick or DVD with System-Update won't be booted at all....

Any other ideas?

Please...

Are you using the original drive model that came with your console?

Hi, I have a flashed Hitachi 79. It was on 1.51.
Played a game with Video-Update #12, tried to update, error 3151-351F-B800-0402-C005-3002 still standing on error-code - no update possible :-(.
Flashed it to orginal Hitachi 79, same error, flashed it to LTplus 1.91 --- same error.
Tried half-tray-open-trick from microsoft support - no chance to boot
Tried holding sync-button - no chance to boot....

What the hell is going wrong?

Xbox is banned... but now it hang's on updating....

Any ideas? Please help.....

you need to make sure you use the correct system update in order for it to complete properly depending on the game it could be 13146 or 13599. you shouldn't need to return the drive to stock but it is recommend

I had this problem, all i done to fix was flash drive to 1.91 and then did the update via usb stick.

My problem was with a liteon drive that had been updated while had ixtreme on, when i flashed back to original it wouldnt accept the update, microsoft says it means xbox is banned and wont allow updates for new games.  ixtreme 1.91 seems to be able to allow the update to work.

 hope this helps.

Sorry didnt realise you already tried the 1.91 sad.gif

He probably has the wrong drive type in his console or needs to flash to stock first.

Most likely its the wrong drive type.

These type of errors only happen if

1) Wrong drive type in console
2) Really old firmware (not LT or LT+)
3) Samsung MS25 is flashed with firmware but that firmware is MS28 firmware
