100 ohm, 2nd from right power lead, via on the left.

is this is all that is needed to be able to read the dvd key after fried board, i have a liteon with fried board in same place as image and am wanting to get the dvd key off the drive. will soldering only to that one pin on the power connector power the drive?, do i not need to connect anything to other pins?

Thanks.

first thing u need to do is figure out why u blew up the drive, that isn't normal.  then u can fix it like this.  ignore the leads soldered together, i just mean the resistor from the power jack to the pcb.

So I would connect a resistor from the 2nd pin from the left on the power connector(when the board is flipped over from the screwed in position) to the 1st pin/hole trace from the right on the 4 traces (pin holes) directly above the power connector?

1.Is that correct?
2.what type of resistor is that?
3. Is the bad resistor causing the drive to short the CK3.

I'm not sure how I blew up the drive, the only thing I can figure is that I must have messed up when attempting to probe drive to extract key, I was extremely tired.

What I did was connect a wire to the 3rd wire from the right on the top set of wires on the power wire and then touched the probe end of the wire to the R707 hole on the DVD board. That is the correct way to extract the key, isn't it? If thats not right then I'm sure thats what happened. I looked in the tutorial for what wire and what pin (hole to probe) and I think those are what it said. Can you please confirm if that is correct or if that is why the resistor fried.

Thanks for the help
