from top to bottom at pin 8 and from right to left at pin 5.

did them with pencil and for some reason they aren't visable on the photo...

i can see a pencil mark.. does not look very straight did you do it freehand?

I think next time...instead of 5 legs across....do it 4 legs this time...I find the 5th leg causing alot of issues

From what I see your only option is to go get a replacement PCB, that is if you have your dvd key...

...Or if you have some rework experience, go get a pro unlock kit and replace that SPI, but judging by the looks of that winbond, I wouldnt tongue.gif

That hole is WAY TOO BIG. Surprised noone mentioned that at all. You need a tip that is 1/8 the size of whatever you are using.

hole too deep and too big... replace the whole pcb with a new one with the key u extracted

reduce the size of the tip for the next kamikaze

personally I use the same dremel tip used by geremia and after several kamikazes (1st one took me 1 hour) I need 3-4 minutes and I'm done.

never failed (hope the same in the future!)
