got the DRW-24B3LT from newegg - crossflashed, updated, then flashed C4 burner max firmware. Excellent kprobe results (for what they are worth).

results from 3 burns (second burn may have been a fluke with the spike but seems like an excellent drive).

1:   burn mkm003 @ 2.4x OPC off | force hyper tuning off | online hyper tuning off
kprobe: PI Max: 30, Avg: 4.29 | PIF Max: 4, Avg: 0.06

2:   burn mkm003 @ 4x OPC on, clear OPC history | force hyper tuning on | online hyper tuning on
kprobe: PI Max: 436, Avg: 4.56 | PIF Max: 9, Avg: 0.08

3:      burn mkm003 @ 4x OPC on, clear OPC History | force hyper tuning off | online hyper tuning off
kprobe:   PI Max: 20, Avg: 1.52 | PIF Max: 3, Avg: 0.05

Ive obtained a HP 1270d drive but am having issues with crossflashing it to an Ihasx24b.

I have followed the steps on the first page and get unstuck when it comes to loading the iHas624b firmware (i have tried all the lightscribe firmwares) as the write fails. The annoying thing is the A firmwares load fine.

If the "A" revision firmwares work then yours is an "A" revision drive. It will never work with the "B" revision firmware as it has a different controller chip. There are both A and B versions of the 1270d, just as there are A and B versions of the ASUS DRW-24B1xT drives. As far as I can see the older the drive, the more likely it will be version A.

I have a question, and looked around for myself, but cannot seem to find what I need. I had my Xbox 360 updated to LT 2.0 and just realized I needed to flash my DVD Burner for some games.
I have a Lite-on iHAS424-98B
So, it seems I have a good drive to flash it to overburn, but I am not sure what to do.

My friend told me, "Just follow the readme in the overburn firmware package." I am not sure which one to use.

There seems to be many files to choose from. Thanks!

When the Asus DRW-24B3LT is crossflashed to Liteon iHAS624B, do you get the Label tag feature?

sorry could some one delete my previous post

here my final how to

here a how to cross flash a

DRW--24B1ST april 2011

1 Use anything to bring the asus into ihas use the flashutility and force any ihas firmware on it

reboot

2 Then use original 324 firmware updater that came with iextreme burner max firmware
(in the dire you have the AL1B file and the iHAS-324B-AL1B-MKM001MKM003-final)
Use the AL1B
Reboot

EEPROM_Utility_6.2.0
2  cross flash then select convert drive

Shut down windows and back on (reboot)

Flash_Utility_6.0.1
3 update with hacked 324 firmware with boot code update selected and reboot

and then test media my mk3 wont burn at 2.4 but are perfect at 4X
or you may have to play around more with some option setting in EEPROM_Utility_6.2.0

there like smart burn and 3 more option to play around

Is it okay to flash iHAS424B-GL1A on mine, iHAS424 B GL15?

2nd question is... do i use the GL1A.exe that comes with the firmware or go get the GL15.exe that is on the lite-on site?

Try that it will give you the correct update for your drive.
