Does anyone know for sure if all the Asus DRW-24B3ST are B chipset versions? I have two available at a local store with april 2011 manufacturing date.
Should I buy ?

Yes, they are, I have one myself, and just flashed the new Max FW today and works great

I have the "ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS" revision. Manufactured in April 2010.

From what I've read on another forum, I need to have the "....A/BLK/B/AS" version for this to work.

So I'm out of luck with version right?

Bought today the DRW-24B3ST and cross flashed to a ihas524B with success with an USB to serial ata device.

I'm at work and unable to test any burn. I'll try later and post.
It went pretty smooth.

Burned Batman Arkham City at 4X on Verbatim, flawlessly. Installed game and played some 10min. No errors.

I'm not sure how critical it is, but I always select the "update bootcode" option when crossflashing, I think it's mentioned on MyCE.
Also, I do the EEPROM convert after the crossflash but BEFORE power-cycling the drive.

I got this on Monday and is a B drive, cross flashed to 624, and then BurnerMax, and it is working perfectly. Lightscribe functions, labeltag, working great. No errors in imgburn, and games are installing to the XBOX hard drive without errors.

Was cheaper last week, so was shipping, so people are buying them, LOL

HP DVD Writer 1260r (ImgBurn showing 1260r MH22 and Nero CD-DVD speed showing 1260r VMH22) not supported. I tried EEPROM_Utility_6.2.0 to backup my eeprom and getting "Error reading EEPROM from drive!"
