I picked up an Asus DRW-24B3LT today and am having some issues flashing it.  I read both the eeprom and firmware twice but when I try to write ATAPI.iHAS624_B.GL27.stock it goes for a second and then says "write failed".  I'm running windows 7 64bit and have tried running the flash utility as administrator but it still doesn't work.  Is there something I'm doing wrong?

try crossflashing to a iHAS424 or ihas525 and see if that works.

Tried that and it didn't work.  I just hooked up the Asus burner via USB instead of sata and it flashed fine.  Are the backups we make and burn now Xbox live safe or is it sketchy since ABGX isn't updated for XGD3 support yet?

Glad it worked for you. As long as you are using the new XBC and the right dae.bin the backups should be fine.

I can confirm that Liteon iHAS122-04 B (ZL0C firmware) can be crossflashed to iHAS524B. Burned, verified and checked quality burn with Kprobe2 on other noncrossflahed Liteon iHAS122-04 B and it works perfectly, plays perectly on my slim.

The best part is that there are A LOT on my town for $20.

Cheers.

So after flashing my dvd drive via usb I put it in my pc and it shows up as an ihas624 in device manager.  I downloaded the new imageburn but when I go to burn the disc it still gives me the error that there's not enough space on the dvd.  Any ideas?

Edit: I just followed the first post and stopped there.  Flashing the ixtreme firmware afterwards solved the issue.  Lol

A few things to add If you would like a drive added to the confirmed list then PM me with drive info, like Brand -- Model -- Manufacture date. If you see one on the list and it does not work for you also send a PM with the same info and maybe we can narrow down what dates to look for on certain drives.

And if you do the crossflash or install the Max Burner Firmware and get stuck with the "Blinking Green Light" try and revert back to your original firmware again then just start over. I had a iHAS324 that did this and I had to downgrade to original firmware then apply update the reapply the Max Burner Firmware and solved the problem.

OP is extremely vague and poorly organized.

Can I or can I not flash my Sony Optiarc 7240s ? If so, can someone point me towards a guide on doing so? Which firmware do I need? And how do i read the eeprom? The eeprom utility that is available in one of the links gives me an error when i try to read it.

I didnt even read the tut and just flashed my ASUS DRW-24B3ST straight to iHAS624B-GL29 c4e and its so far working fine lol.

Something strange I have noticed though, after I flashed and converted, even after a restart the drive wasnt working. It was just detected as a cd rom and it didnt read anything. I restarted a few times and still nothing. I tried flashing it back to stock but the programs didnt want to boot up so I disconnected my 0800 and shit, everything started working again  huh.gif

Hi Everyone,

Was wondering if someone could give me some advise.

Ive obtained a HP 1270d drive but am having issues with crossflashing it to an Ihasx24b.

I have followed the steps on the first page and get unstuck when it comes to loading the iHas624b firmware (i have tried all the lightscribe firmwares) as the write fails. The annoying thing is the A firmwares load fine.

The drive is MF 2009 so i dont see how this would be a 1270r but i know for a fact is a 1270d (a revision) which was marked as confirmed on the front page.

Anyone have any suggestions.

Many thanks..........

Do we know something about the pionner 112D? thats the drive i have and found no info. thanks.

This is the same drive I have and came looking for info too. It's not sata as it looks like most (all?) verified drives are. Got it early on when ixtreme was the way to go as this drive was one of the most recommended. It had bitset or whatever it was required and have used it for all disks up until now.

1) google if it's possible to use the iHAS B fw.
2) if not try it out yourself and let the op know to confirm it.

If eeprom errors the sony drive may not be a liteon drive and therefore you can't crossflash.
