This didn't take long - http://www.ebay.co.u...=item2315272b0a

That's an extortionate price, for less than what they're charging I was able to grab the same drive and 20 verbs from ebuyer.

Still, it's surprisingly difficult to find anything other than the 124 around the place.

I don't think that one is compatible. I think he is trying to trick people.

I just noticed that. I ordered one anyway, at that price it is worth the risk.

so verbatim mkm001 are the preferred discs while verbatim mkm003 are not as good. And you say that you can tell the difference in ImgBurn!! But that's AFTER you've bought them! How can you tell which is which before buying so you can get the right ones????

Just noticed that.  They're out of stock of all four compatible models in their list.

eBuyer have the IHAS124-19, over 200 in stock at the moment.  Also of interest is this eBay listing. It's been sold, but it shows the label of an IHAS124-19 and this one's a "B" model, so things look promising.  I know a few people who will be interested so I've ordered a couple from eBuyer for next day delivery. At least they show their stock level before you try to check out!

http://www.ebuyer.co...-oem-ihas124-19

Note to those who think the pictures are wrong: the label is on the underside of the drive (hence the screws in the corners).

Also worthy of note (if it's needed, perhaps they'll be enabled anyway) is that these drives can be crossflashed, the only feature that can't be enabled if it's not already there is LabelFlash. This means that you can turn a 124 into a 324 or 524, or make a 224 into a 424 or 624.
More info here.

APPARENTLY THE ASUS DRW-24B3LT CAN BE CROSSFLASHED TO AN IHAS-624B

See here for more info and tools.

How can we identify the difference? Looked on my disk but I couldn't find that number anywhere.

If you put a disc into your drive and run Imgburn it IDs the disc for you on the right hand side  wink.gif

Just to clarify on this, I think it's actually even easier to tell.

Verbatim seem to do two versions of the DL DVDs, one's rated at 2.4x and ones rated at 8x. I believe the mkm001 are the 2.4x variety and the mkm003 are the 8x variety. However, I cannot confirm this as in the UK, I can "Only" get hold of the 8x variety. I believe some of the 2.4x ones are actually MKM003, but you can't guarantee it.

Yeah, this is going to be a pain in the ass. Time to get a xk3y... probably.

Where did you get that from? He said both were supported.

What makes you say that? I mean I'm just saying it looks genuine enough to me, just expensive.
Although I'm pretty sure the image in the listing is wrong, it should look like this:

IPB Image

Well it says model is IHAS164B. That isn't listed as compatible by C4Eva

As far as the Verbatim issues are concerned, what I read into C4E's comments were that the MKM001 disks worked perfectly when burnt at 2.4 and the MKM003 disks could now be successfully written at x4 speed.

So if my understanding is correct, then either version of the disk will work fine.

I'm more than happy to get the new burner in if it means that 1:1 replica burns can be produced. I ordered mine from Ebuyer last night and its just shown up! Happy days....

This is also waaaaaaaaaaaay cheaper than going down the Xkey route too. So for now and until such time as the CFW becomes obsolete then this will do very nicely indeed.

Many thanks as always to the C4E / Team Jungle team for their incredible work and efforts
