Silly question: I own one of those drives. After flashing with iXtreme Burner Max FW will I be able to use the DVD Drive just like before? Like burn CD, DVD, etc., basically everything besides XGD3 back-ups.

So is burning the XDG3 rips fine with a normal burner if you dont care about being "safe" on xbox live?

-I use memorex dvd-dl's
-dont have or care about xbox live
-just bought a samsung burner (which works amazingly)

as you can see I have little to no reason to care about the new burner firmware.

sooner or later theres going to be some necessary data in the part that normal burners currently cannot burn to a disc...

From what I read xgd3 games like forza are hanging from time to time because of that missing bit.

I wonder if there is any gain in burn quality from the iHAS124B version to the iHAS624B version. I would guess the answer is no. I don't think i would have any use for the extra features of the other models.

Yes, you will just have the added feature to be able to over burn

So where is the cheapest online store that guarantees the B version?  I'm sure if we set up a group buy, it would bring the price down even more.

Crazy stuff.  It seems my burner on my rig is one of the supported models. Time to buy another, figured it'll be easier to have two.

Thx C4Eva

If you put a disc into your drive and run Imgburn it IDs the disc for you on the right hand side  wink.gif
