Drilling The 0225
« on: October 16, 2011, 08:16:00 PM »

Ok guys, so after a long duration of carefully dremelling epoxy off the mxic, i have come to slight differences in coordinates of where to drill..

Below are 2 "draw-ups" of where I should drill. But they are awfully close to eachother. So my question is, will drilling in that general area cut the trace? Or is it completely off?

*These are pics from my drive*

Help is very much appreciated

Once its 5 legs vertical and 8 legs horizontal, you in the safe zone, would recommend to use the soldering iron if you don't wanna screw up a drive

Well ive got a precision hand, a dremel, and a .5mm bit so I think im in the safe zone any other way (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Edit: Ok, I have measured the distance between the two intercepts, it turns out to be 0.4mm. Will I be able to hit the WP if i drill in between the two intercepts?

Edit 2: I plan on drilling at the mark indicated on tuesday (I get my CK3 on tuesday). Let me know if the hole size is too big or off target...

From what I measured from the high res pics, they are both pretty accurate, its just a matter of drilling it right.

Just a question though, are the WP wires far enough away from other wires that I can drill in the middle of both measured intersects?

Edit: Forgot to mention the MTK is Winbond not MXIC

Alright, well ive just figured out that my drive wont vendor intro with my nForce chipset... Is there any alternatives to get it into vendor mode without the x360usb pro? And can you proceed with the unlock with the method?

Ok, so the kamikaze went beautifully, flashed LTPlus 2.0, now whenever I go to play a backup, I get "This Disc is not supported." Although the game does show up in dash. I made a backup of Modern Warfare 3, with an 0800 drive, but havent checked the iso with abgx yet as they dont support XGD3 backups yet.

TL;DR - Flashed my 0225 with LTPlus 2.0, getting an error "This disc is not supported."

well its actually very easy to tell if the drive plays original mw3 then you screw up the backup otherwise you screw up the drive.

Did you follow the Jungleflasher Guide when writing the F/W? Take the drive back out and follow the guide in the jungleflasher tutorial i.e use the part of the guide that refers to replacement tx board (page 211 of tut 1.4.4) when writing the f/w closing the cut outro the drive etc. Its very important you follow it word for word.

Turns out the drive is fine, it plays backups with a LB of 1913760 just fine. It must be something i did wrong while backing up the game. BTW im using an iHAS 124 flashed with burner max to burn the backups...

Is there a good tut on how to properly back up and burn XGD3 games?

Just got an update from MW3... Doesnt look so good. All backups are not working, both XGD2, and XGD3.

Word has it that everyone who has installed the update is unable to boot these games either...

DO NOT UPDATE!!!
