Via Pci Sata Driver Question
« on: October 12, 2011, 02:03:00 PM »

go into device manager and disable the via sata card. then go to wow64 folder and rename the viavmraid.sys to viavmraid.bak.

then re-enable the via card it will have an exclamation mark next to it. that is what you want.

then reboot the pc. after post screen keep tapping F8 that will take you to the advanced boot menu. you then need to disable driver signing (portio isnt signed and will not boot in anything above windows vista without disableing driver signing)

then follow the jungle flasher guide for flashing the benq..if you only use the via card for flashing then leave the drivers off..if not disable / rename viavmraid.bak back to viavmraid.sys / re-enable / reboot

one other thing is that the via disabling of drivers is for the freezing during lite-on erasing. doing a benq  with the drivers installed and enabled should have no ill side effects when doing a benq.

just remeber whichever method you use you will need to disable driver signing in F8 for jungle flasher to work properly with windows 7

Via Pci Sata Driver Question
« Reply #2 on: October 15, 2011, 09:44:00 AM »

I recently flashed my liteon and when I tried to retrieve my key (used a PMT probe) it froze my computer. I had to hard reset and when I was back in windows, the exclamation mark was in device manager. I booted up JF again but it would not detect the drive no matter what I did. I tried re installing the drivers but it kept rejecting them for some reason.

I ended up downloading a new set of drivers and I was able to get the key without it freezing and I didnt even have to disable the drivers.

http://www.devilsps3..._raid_v530c.zip  << these are the drivers I used. For some reason in device manager, my via card changed name from "6421" to "3249" but hey it works so I don't really care..
