We’ve known this drive was in the pipeline since back in early June, and now the Lite-On 1175 DG-16D5S has finally begun to make its appearance in retail units. Check out photos of the new drive here.

The status table has been updated to include this new drive. As usual, please contact an op in the #c4e channel on EFnet IRC if you have one of these drives and are willing to send it to the team or if you can provide a full fw dump (whether current unlocking methods still work for this drive, has yet to be determined).

Thank you to “R” for providing initial insight about this drive several months ago, and to Fresh101 for his photos confirming the drive’s presence in retail units.

lol, owned. I'm gonna speculate that since this is a new hardware revision, it may be an attempt to block pcb replacements. Here's to hoping Kamikaze still works.

its an Mediatek MT1332 Chipset and all known methods will not dump the drive or even MTK the drives.

So, the odds of this showing up in my replacement GoW3 console, are pretty good eh?

If it is, I'll just wait patiently for the hack, as always  smile.gif

No, don't mod that. It always grinds my gears a little (no pun intended) when people buy a limited edition system and then start ripping it apart.

That sounds interesting. Are they like that from the factory with no epoxy? Maybe MS is confident in the drive being unhackable this time. As long as RGH works on these consoles the key can still be retrieved for say the ODD emulators, unless they block those

i know we need more then just the key with these slims but 1 good thing is a glitch board could fetch the key and a tx pcb will allow write...

whats the mfd on these consoles are they from before the glitch was public? has ms done any changes to stop the glitch aswell as the new drive?

I modded my gow console before I even powered it on for the first time.

Not really sure why as I don't even use backups lol

If it were one of those custom painted xboxs that get given away as prizes that would be one thing but your "limited edition" gears console means that they will only sell 10,000 or so.  Just the case anyway - you could guts swap it with anything if if ever failed.
