I keep thinking I would like to play with some of the mods for halo but everything I have seen looks like it will take some time. Is there a mod disk or pak that is a one step multi option kind of thing?

halo nmp 2.0

it runs off your pc and requires your xbox to be networked to your pc and then the application does the work for you.

now I just need a modded halo default.xbe to launch the different halo versions

Halo NMP 2.0 automatically does that for you.

Try and get Halo Cache Editor v0.7. it runs natively on xbox, and makes modding as easy as pie.
