if you had the wrong firmware it wouldn't even recognise the disc as a game.

Well, im having exactly the same problem as you Bushvar. I googled a bit, searched here, at ixtreme, c4eva speaks and team xecuter forums and it seems other people have this problem too...

I flashed over 20 360s in the past years, with no problem....i now what to do, and how to do it...not a noob here.

I doubled, tripled checked all the process of making backups with the new c4eva tool, but the problem persists.
I tried burning my backups with imgburn, old version (giving the 97% error) and the new one truncating the disc, and i also tried burning it with clonecd.... still the same...
Burned at 2.4x , 4x and 6x speeds....
My drive is a liteon and my burner is a LG one (i think thats the problem here).
Plays old backups fine, as well as originals. The only problem is with new XGD3 backups. Shows "Play Game" but shows no image of it, i start it, the screen goes black and then back to the dashboard.

And yes, already tried to clear the cache as some ppl mention before in other topics. And tripled checked the new layer break

And as nothing to do with regions like solpadeineking said above. I'm making pal backups and trying to play them on a pal console. thats not the problem.

Any advice? If the problem is the burner, what do you recommend me to buy?

Problem solved!!!

The most lame problem ever.... JF is auto loading LT 1.1 and not LT 2.0 by default.... For all the people having the black screen go back to dash problem, check what Firmware you have, because im almost sure you are with LT1.1 and not 2.0 ....

i's def 2.0 as it says it when youauto load it.
also i've just flashed a friends xbox to 2.0 with a benq drive and his xbox is havin the same problem so it's got to be a problem with the games.
I'm burning them on normal DL with imagburn an have got the Layer Break set to "Calculate Optimal" and then follwing the burning instructions ( not enough space on disc click yes, etc)
i'm pretty sure the .dvd file is set to 2133520 as is the laybreak on imagburn.

How do i open the .dvd file to make sure it is set to 2133520 and if i need to how do i change it?

Try manually loading the new firmware & flash again

It says 2.0 when autoload but its not, its LT1.1....

Manually load the firmware and flash it again.

i've tried the manual flash with both drives (benq & lite on) but am getting same result.
With the lite on drive the only 2.0 firmware is LTPlus-025-V2.0 so am presuming this is the one i have to use?
My dashboard is 2.0.13599.0 so does this mean the xbox live update made my drive 025?
do you think having a spoofed drive would have anything to do with it?

also i've jusr run the 2 games through abgx360 and its saying the games are not recognised as a 360 iso or stealth file

you can open the .dvd in any text editor and abgx has not been updates for xgd3 yet.

dont need to setup imgburn
so long as dvd file has layer break of 2133520 and when you click write in imgburn tab should be already selected to truncate
i was under the impression that spoofing drives with the new dash was a no no
are these proper 0800 v 3.0 rips of your original games if not you will get play game that takes you back to dash

i think the same think! assurely you burn a game with "0800v3" Name! not simply XBG3, but "xgb3_0800", i had burned only "XGB£_file" and it does not function becouse it is only for Jtag, then it remind me on dashboard "play game" but the game does not start!then i downloaded the "Xbg3_0800v3"gears3.rar,  burned, and the game START! smile.gif.. i have a benq spoofed like liteon on my xbox 360 biggrin.gif
