Seriously though, NO SUPPORT for older Hitachi's? Basically meaning that anyone who has that drive is screwed when it comes to XGD3 backups...

Anyway, is anyone else getting errors when trying to install Gears 3 to HDD? Both my Liteon's and my Sammy are doing this. Could it be the way these are burnt or a issue on my end?

Having exact same problem here. All old backups work fine. Gears and Warhammer simply say "play game" and will not boot. Tried burning multiple times using Imgburn and following directions carefully. Anybody can help? please?

For some reason, me too. The xbox Creator and 0800 work great. I ripped my Dead island, about 3 times, thinking it my rip. But i think its the way im burning it.
I just got my gears yesterday, after finally getting the money. So ill see if i get it working.
-BTW my dead island original works fine.

if your xbox boots to the dash, try updating via usb flash drive. download the update from MS and use a flash drive to update your dash.

it will flash your drive to a stock fw, which you will be able to read/extract with JF, then flash with 2.0.

Thanks for help but I some how got it back to stock then it updated all the way.Then I couldnt get lt 2.0 to work but after i keep trying I got key to show up instead of "ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff" and it flashed my backups work but I havent try XGD3 yet but it should work lol crossing fingers!

People who backed up there games with LT 2.0 and got them to work can you say what media your useing>i all ways used memorex's they seemed to all ways work.But I dont know if they would work with this new format.

I know it's changed not sure if you need to change it imgburn i havent tried burning one yet, just waiting for a replacement dvd drive for my xbox

I use Verbatim, but could someone kindly point me in the direction of a proper tutorial to burn these XGD3 games? They seem to play fine from disc but fail to properly install to HDD, and if c4e says "no more burning errors" than I'm surely doing something wrong. Is there a new tutorial to burn these with Imgburn?

I just updated my benq 360 and my xgd3 backups work fine. (So now I know it's not the rip or media) I don't understand why it doesn't work on my lite-on drive.

Dang it sure doesn't sound like it

Wasn't too long ago when those older hitachis were the king drives that could play anything.
