Why patch if there is nothing to patch? Backups created with the new XBC are perfectly fine.

All XGD3 discs work that way when they're first booted. If it ends up spinning down after a couple of minutes, it's working perfectly.

So am I right in thinking that the key to burning these things without errors is to burn them via the new XBC and not via Imgburn etc?

No. Redline99 has said that XBC does not support burning XGD3 titles at present. Use ImgBurn for now.

ABGX isn't updated yet. Speaking of, does anyone have any idea when it will be updated? I'm not impatient, I just thought it might be updated at the same time that LT+ 2.0 released. Maybe tomorrow, though.

But doesn't imgburn result in the errors. I checked the nfo with the fw but there are no configuration instructions so that only leaves the RRoD ones to go on.

EDIT: OK, I see I think I get it now, it is correct that imgburn presents errors with standard DL media, only HC media (which doesn't currently exist) will fix this.

I wish CloneCD still worked though really, I've had a lot of problems burning DL media with imgburn.

C4E has said that the nfo from that group is not accurate. People have reported no issues burning with ImgBurn. You're welcome to try and find out, of course. I haven't had any experience with it, so I can't say for myself.

I flashed 2.0 on a 7 series lite-on drive and something isn't right. Retail games boot, but my backup of Gears 3 doesn't work. I'm pretty sure I burnt correctly. It started to boot and goes back to play game. No older backups work either. They just hang on Xbox 360 logo. I went straight from 1.91 to 2.0.

Anyone have any ideas what could be wrong?

probably a badflash, re-flash, make sure your key is correct and the dashboard is up-to-date

Thanks, I'll try it tomorrow, wife decided that tonight would be a good chance for 'relaxing time' so I couldn't reflash my drive.

are using the last imgburn 2.5.5.0? and Gears of War 3 READNFO XGD3 0800 USA RF-XBOX360-RRoD version?
if this are correct, then re-falshed your lite on with LTPlus-025-v2.0.

I have the same issue but my older backups work fine. Backup of Gears 3 will only show as "Play Game" and when I select it it just boots back into the dashboard. Any idea?

Wrong Key! Boy I feel dumb, but thanks! I really should have double checked that. Also dashboard needed to be updated. Everything is working great now.
