Catman. Your probe's old method won't work now anyway if your drive is on the 0250 firmware. If you don't have the original dummy.bin you need to turn your probe into a pmt probe. I did it with my xecuter probe1. I removed all the components, joined the red, brown and black wires and connected them to the ground wire on the drive cable. It only takes about ten minutes. You also need to add a switch on the 3.3v line on the drive cable. The pmt instruction pics are on here somewhere.

Is there any solution to make my XBOX360 think the original drive was a samsung? I searched around but didnt see anything that helps with my problem. I've been out of the scene for a little bit so didnt know if I might have missed something.

I used to have a J-Tag 360 but it died and have reflowed too many times so needs reballing now. Getting one of the secondary error codes that means "bridged solder joints under the CPU/GPU.
I think there was away to change drive type with J-tag but not 100%. Alos wouldnt have to worry about the drive if I still had my JTAG I was thinking about buying one of those reballing stations off ebay. The ones that are around $200 but not sure how well they work. I've removed chips with my rework station before without damage but never installed one. Any body know if those cheap reballing kits work.

Maybe I should just go with the reset glitch hack, was thinking about purchasing a cheap next week any ways.

I have the exact same setup as you. I have a sammy spoofed as a Hitachi 47. Were you able to upgrade to the newest dashboard? I know I will need to put the Hitachi 47 (bad laser) back into the system to upgrade the dashboard, but I wasn't sure if it would install at all seeing as the new dash does not update the firmware on Hitachi 47s. Also, shouldn't we be able to flash the samsung drive with the sammy LT 2.0 firmware and spoof it again as a Hitachi 47? I know you can't spoof drives and go on live any more, but I don't plan on doing that anyways. Can you still spoof drives with the new dashboard if you are playing offline?

I have dashboard 2.0.13599.0. I can play vanquish, Dead Island, ext. So I think this is the newest dashboard. Also looked on Xbox360 website and it was released 7/19/11. I downloaded update and installed via USB stick. Didn't have to re-flash the drive to OFW, I have also applied any game updates as well. Mind you that I do not go on live and my 360 is not connected to the Internet. I have LT+ v1.1 installed.

In your post you said "Also, shouldn't we be able to flash the Samsung drive with the sammy LT 2.0 firmware and spoof it again as a Hitachi 47?" I didn't think about that and I'm not sure if it will work or not. I'm going to try and see what happens and report back.

If anybody knows if "HalfRight" is correct please feel free to comment and save me some time if that method doesn't work or just some reassurance incase it does work and i do something wrong and it doesnt work. That way I'll know to keep trying if it is supposed to work.

I still don't understand why people continue to discuss their spoofing problems in EVERY single new FW topic that comes up....... spoofing questions should be asked somewhere else. anyway spoofing is pretty straight forward. there is no way to do a so called backwards spoof

I just backed up my GOW3 copy popped it in went online and played 1 round of hoard, went to join another room and got a message "Failed to Authenticate Disc"

and it turned my 360 off, I turned it back on, not banned off line but prob flagged.

Peeps might want to be real careful with Gears of War 3 because everything was smooth sailing for a few matches then I get game update followed by ----> "Failed to Authenticate Disc" Xbox shut off . Not banned because BBC2 plays just fine....

I'm starting to read the same issue elsewhere with others....

Hi guys.

I've flashed my old Samsung MS25 to the latest LT 2.0 and got error E66 trying to update the system, from the GoW3 DVD. After some reading I decided to go back to stock firmware to try the upgrade but now I cannot get dosflash to talk to my MS25! Is there some kind of Firmguard as in earlier versions of iXtreme ? Any tips on getting my MS25 back to stock ? I've flashed it many times with this method, never before having problems

EDIT: Nvmd. Bit the bullet, booted XP and it works fine from Jungleflasher after doing "Unlock Sammy".

Hey Guys
Updated the dash on my offline Liteon to latest by usb then flashed to LT + 2.0 in JungleFlasher. I used the Dummy.bin file from the last time I flashed as source and did the spoof source to target then erase and write. I had to do this several times because I didn't think it was working. Even though it said good write the outro did not give the c4eva verification and DVD key is not recognized. Eventually I just reconnected the xbox back up and it plays backups great -- offline that is. I've noticed on other forums people are getting the same thing and this could be critical on Live.

Its funny, I have 7 xbox's and not one of them have a Benq or a Lite-On so I just bought a Lite-On from Ebay so I can make an 0800 drive to replace my old Kreon.

That happens on the original for some people, it's a bug in the game I believe.

Not that I have any technical knowledge (or even follow the xbox scene news these days), but this LT-MAX thing sounds a bit dodgy to me.

Congrats to C4E and the team for getting XGD3 backups to run but the problem persists in that with currently available DL media not all the data/padding will fit.

MS can simply audit any XGD3 made backup and target content integrity verification tests at the missing data.

I usually jump on the bandwagon without a thought (whats an xbox worth these days anyway) but this one seems like a definite ban to me....

Or am I missing something?
