Liteon 93450c Broken Board
« on: July 04, 2011, 09:46:00 PM »

I was trying to extract the key of my Liteon 93450c with Scorpion 2, but I accidentally touched some resistors with scorpion, generating a short circuit. After that, the drive don't works well anymore, and I wasnt able to extract the key.

Anyone knows how can I extract it? Where is the firmware written in the board?

Thanks

The firmware is on the controller chip "the one with the glue on it"

You only have 2 options. Repair the board or remove the controller chip and put it onto a new board.

Thanks for the information. I tried to repair the board, but no success.

Another point that I forgot to mention: This controller chip becomes VERY HOT after the short circuit. Maybe it is fuc*ed up?

99% chance your consoles is screwed.

Sorry for the bad luck. Try to be more careful next time.

Hello, you should post up some clear pic’s of your PCB`s board front and back.
Some peeps in the scene are very experienced in deciphering burnt components or other problems with the blink of an eye. You have nothing to lose and maybe a console to gain.   (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

The part where he says the IC chip get real hot when powered is very very good indication things are beyond repair short of decaping the IC chip.
