If you have your drive key, load your drive's version of LT 1.9 (Post 13141 Folder) into the target FW and paste in your drive key, then flash..

Is this safe since it doesn't copy any of the other data?  Or is the other data not needed any longer?

Has the Lite-On 9504 Slim LT+ 1.9 come out yet?

Yes (for Liteon 9504 slim). it's all in the firmware pack i just downloaded.

p.s. i got a Samsung myself though. i might just wait for v2.0 since i probably won't need to get on live anytime soon anyways.

OK .. some help please ...

So I set my Liteon 74850c back to Stock firmware and updated my dash.

I take my original firmware (dummy.bin) and set that as the Source.

I take the FW from Liteon (Phat)  Post 13141 (LTPlus-025v1.9.bin) and set as target.

When I go to spoof source to target it does not copy over ID strings or serial info.

After the dash update my stock FW is now a 0251 drive. My old FW with key is 7485. Do I need to extract a proper set of FW files again or is it safe to go ahead and flash this new FW without all the info.

I flashed my 74850c with this method and backups are loading, i have connected to xbl and so far xval says im not flagged, but I would also like a difinitive answer regarding the ID strings and serial info.

So I flashed and on reconnecting to Live it's requesting a new update. I was just on Live like 15 minutes ago (previously updated to new dash and was running stock), so did I screw something up?

EDIT: I totally forgot to plug my HDD back in. Derp.

Hi,
Should I flash back to OFW before updating the Dash or is it safe flash to LT+1.9 and then update the dash?

Thanks!

I believe it is wise to flash back to OFW before updating. The update is going to reflash your drive any way so why not be on safe side and make sure its flashing over original fw.

Why not release LT+ v1.9 for 9504 drives as well they have been in testing for longer than these and are purportedly done.  They don't have any write protection as far as I know and I know they don't if they haven't been updated which mine hasn't.

Well if you release one we will be ok then wont we buddy!

Searched around and not sure this has been answered yet: I have a Phat LiteOn 93450C with LT1.1+ without latest dash

1) In what order shall I install dash / flash 1.9+? New Dash, then 1.9+ ? or other way around?
2) Should one restore OFW before updating to New Dash ?
3) After updating to new dash, would it be important to take a new OFW rip as I don't have the expertise/tools to do this myself and if so, what is the risk of not doing this?
4) If OFW is restored, does one need to solder/ use tools to flash new LT+1.9?

Thanks and sorry if this has been asked before. Bit paranoid!

1b000
1c000

etc are just the sectors in which the keys are stored.

It's not really relevant.

1) New Dash and then LT+ v1.9.
2) You can skip restoring OFW before the Dash update. But you will be safer if you will restore OFW prior the DB update. No one knows if MS checks the FW during the update process. So it's up to you.
3) You don't have to read the new FW as long as you have the DVD Key. I assume you have it. Right?
4) No. Once you have your OFW and DVD key, you don't need to read it ever again. So no soldering. And FW write process doesn't require soldering.

Just did this with 2 different consoles (1 BENQ and 1phat liteon)

Followed these steps, as I still have my keys from both consoles.  Both consoles are NOT updated as start of procedure.

1 - remove DVD drive from console, flash back to stock (using firmware from pack - pre-update OFW)
2 - put dvd drive back into console
3 - boot console up, connect to live
4 - get prompted for update, proceed to update (takes a bit)
5 - once update is complete, shut down console
6 - remove dvd drive, flash to ix-lt1.9 (remember, I have my keys saved, so this is simple in JF)
7 - put dvd drive back into console
8 - boot console back up, connect to live, and put in a burned game (for this, I used MK)
9 (optional) - checked xval flags, all seemed normal.

Everything seemed to go smoothly on my end, but then again, the biggest part of this is making sure you have your keys.

Burning off a new copy of MW2 as Ive been missing shooting people in the head and I feel after about a month of not playing, Im gonna be RUSTY!  laugh.gif

Working fine here.
Console was 12625 liteon with lx 1.1

1.) Open dummy.bin to get existing keys/info.
2.) Spoof keys etc into pre OFW version A, check the hardware info to determine which version
3.) Write OFW to drive.
4.) Boot and update on live (takes a while, drive makes some noise while ms plays with it smile.gif )
5.) Verify originals work and backups dont
6.) Spoof keys etc into 1.9 CFW and write to drive
7.) Boot and verify originals and backups now work.
8.) Spend hours reburning for the new ap25 challenges smile.gif

Thanks c4e/team jungle/team xecuter and to all those involved
