Is this safe since it doesn't copy any of the other data? Or is the other data not needed any longer?

From what i understand, the serial/barcode data is no longer present in the firmware the update writes, and so is no longer needed in the new firmware series. It was previously considered to be information left on from manufacturer, and true to this it seems it is not needed.

All you need then is the drive key, as 1.9 does not use calibration data, same as with the new ofw.
Hope that helps

Has the Lite-On 9504 Slim LT+ 1.9 come out yet?

QUOTE(ThaCrip @ Jun 15 2011, 01:55 AM) *

Yes (for Liteon 9504 slim). it's all in the firmware pack i just downloaded.

p.s. i got a Samsung myself though. i might just wait for v2.0 since i probably won't need to get on live anytime soon anyways.

I dont believe it has if you look more closely at whats in the LiteOn (Slim) folder is only OFW in 0272 and 9504 and 9504 LTPlus1.1 not 1.9 all other folders are empty.

WackyBacky: after the newest dashboard update, all lite-on drives have the 025 firmware so there are no longer specifics (74850, etc etc). as far as the key, you should have it stored somewhere or simply redump it. jungleflasher's mtkflash tab might be looking for it in its previous spot and its no longer there (the dash update moves the key, remember?). so this shouldn't be anything to worry about if you've previously flashed it as the key should be in the keydb anyway.

Would anyone be so kind as to tell me which file i should use to flash back to stock on a Lite-On 748590C Drive please.

orig-74850C-1a000.bin
orig-74850C-1b000.bin
orig-74850C-1c000.bin
orig-74850C-1e000.bin

Just confused me a little when presented with the four choices.

Thank you in advance.

Edit: Figured it out now, just downloaded stock FW somewhere else which just had one file (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

My best guess (and with the Benq it is clearer) is that it's based on the address of your key in your dummy.bin. Bring up dummy.bin as your source in Jungleflasher. Right above the key it should say: DVD Key @ A030 or something similar.

I am assuming if it's an A you use 1a000.bin. If it starts with B use 1b000.bin and so on.

If I have assumed wrong someone please correct me.

You have to flash after you update your dashboard. If you flashed your drive before, the update would just overwrite your firmware with stock firmware. If you have the ability to do so, I would flash back to stock before you update your dashboard just in case MS is checking firmwares. We don't believe that it's even possible to check the firmware of a liteon, but ya never know. It just seems safer to me.

If you've found the firmware package, there should be a set of stock firmwares for your particular drive, all you need is the drive key from your modded firmware, and you can just spoof the stock firmware in JungleFlasher with your drive's key, then flash that to the drive, replace in your Xbox, run the dashboard update, then flash the drive with LT+ 1.9 and you should be good. Though it's doubtful MS detects your drive anyhow, better safe than sorry, that's how I did it with my Benq (LT+ 1.1>stock>upgrade>LT+ 1.9). Good luck!

fredfunk (and other Benq drive owners):

If you haven't updated to the new dashboard yet, you'll want the pre-13141 firmware. If you already have upgraded, you'll want the post. Though if you haven't upgraded yet, your best bet is to use Jungleflasher and reflash your Benq to stock, using the OFW firmware in the firmware bundle under the pre-13141 directory, spoofing the drivekey from your modded firmware to the stock firmware, flash, then do the upgrade. You could always directly flash either pre-or-post dashboard upgrade to the 1.9 firmware, but the chances of MS detecting your firmware increase.
