Show some respect. Tiros is the person responsible for creating the hacked SMC for the rebooter project and certainly has more clout than a group who make things too profit.

Why is a new Samsung fw needed? They are absolutely not flashing the Samsungs , unless their is something new that LT didn't include or makes it no longer safe.

The samsung fw I have here says they are indeed modifying the drives.

Also, you are correct, with regards to Tiros, he doesnt deserve that, but his insights is also not as "cast iron" as he portrays.

Which one MS28? I dumped the firmware files from the system update itself there are 3 different FWs none of which are for a Sammy , Just Sayin , my research shows differently. I have the Benq , Phat Lite-on and Slim Lite-on OFW. I did a customer machine this morning with an MS28 spoofed as MS25 err actually it was an MS25 but LT+ made it into an MS28 , with only one release of LT for Sammys , anyway it checked the drive 3 times once i put the stock ms25 FW on it , but did not flash anything new too it , I checked , and when i put LT back on it as an MS28 it worked fine again.

Thanks to everyone involved, I didn't expect a turnaround that quick to support the new dashboard.

I don't get why people are complaining about getting 1.9 before 2.0 - there aren't any retail discs out there with the new disc format yet, so why keep people waiting to get Live functionality back (or at least, safer than with LT+ 1.1)? I don't think work on 1.9 will delay the release of 2.0 - after all, they had to change the firmware anyway to mimic the new "original" firmware. It's like Step 1. Once that is done, you can work on the "new disc format" backup issue.

If it isn't fast enough for you, just buy legit games, like some of us actually do once in a while when a game is good.

Regarding the 0800 ripping firmware, does anyone know if it will be able to extract all AP25 sectors from an original disc, even if the challenges change with each dashboard? I want to know if we'll have to update the ripping firmware everytime a new dashboard comes out and then repatch our ISOs. I am hoping for a solution that gathers every AP25 sector from the disc, used or unused, so that games wouldn't need to be patched over and over again after each dashboard update. Maybe that's just wishful thinking, but if it isn't, will the new firmware also be able to extract AP25 sectors for games not yet in the AP25 challenge table, just in case these games are later checked in future dashboard versions?

heres somthing to think about your all flashing your drives back to the old firmware right? well the key location is different when the update of the flash has been given. Bearing this in mind wouldn't it be easy to ban that user that the key location has been put back to the old position. And wouldn't it be a good idea for microsoft to then E79 (Fault the drive) when the key location has shifted back to its old position after update. Im not sure people have thought about this but 1.9 maybe needed just for this simple fact that why is the drive booting up fine on an old key location. Makes me wonder if they going to ban you guys smile.gif  jester.gif

The key locaion didn't change. Look at my post (pure_bluff) at the top of this page.

However, there's commands issued over XBL - "Inquiry" - This will most certainly be detecable as your drive iwll return the <old drive response> instead of <new drive response>

In short, reflashing is 100% detectable and the commands to do so, are (and have been for ages) used over XBL

Ooops, not on this page. here

Can't edit my posts, guess thats the beauty of being in "Last Chance"

I'm just happy my dvd drive died (well it just can't read anything). So instead of replacing it now and then having to reinstall firmware in a week or whatever I can just wait it out and only open my xbox 360 once. I know I could just spend money in order to make this a whole lot easier but I would much rather do it the free way.

Question:  If running LT+ and you don't use your box for online play you should wait for v2.0?  Are there any limitations with LT+ and current backups?  Thanks gents.

Everyone stop bitching, and be greatly for the work c4eva and the team does, with 1.9 we can indeed return back to live untill 2.0 release.

No, its because Hitachi sucks - theres loads of different firmware versions, which is therefore more work. Hitachi is always last to get updates.

Sorry, but my question was perfectly serious and your answer is an INSULT, ppl like you must not be here!
We are just trying to discuss and help ppls, NOT BEEN OFFENSIVE!
Then i´ll repeat my question... OLD HITACHI DRIVES, are not being reflashed by the last systemupdate, can someone confirm that those drives dont gonna need a new CFW to read XGD3? thx!

They won't need a new CFW to play retail XGD3 games. They will for XGD3 backups, if it is even possible.
Let's all chill out. Go outside for a bit or something.  rolleyes.gif

i guess the main thing i am wondering is...

does this update ENABLE AP25 support in Samsung DVD-ROM drives for the 360's?

because previously it was not possible for Samsung's to support AP25. i assume the firmware update enabled it?, or is it physically impossible for AP25 to be supported on Samsung's? ... or was the update on Samsung's SOLELY to support the extra 1GB of space?

Hey C4!, If you ever read this. Do me a favor!. Stop what you are doing and take a break and grab a breath of fresh air.

I am grateful for what you do and would much rather you do what you feel you need to do on your own time then feel pressured or irritated at everyone grumbling and moaning about release dates and "soon" notices etc.

For a lot of us, we have waited patiently for the releases of LT+ and the soon to be released LT 1.9 and LT 2.0 but for me at least, I've waited even longer for someone else to step up to the plate and show us that they too can work the code like C4 but it hasn't happened yet so I will appreciate what I get when I get it because it's free and no one else is offering it. biggrin.gif

Have a great memorial day everyone!
