Hi, has anyone updated to the newest dash on a lite-on 93450c drive then reflashed to lt + 1.1?  If anyone has are you flagged for a ban and do all the games work online?  Please let me know because if you did I may give it a try also.  I figure If I get banned I can always sell my console as a banned console on craigslist and buy a used un-banned console pretty much at the same price.

I'm still using LT+ 1.1 on Live with my Lite-On 74850c. I had a spare drive that was identical and had LT on it so I used that to do the update and then put my LT+ one back in. I've checked the xval a few times and no flag so far. All games work besides Fable III, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Modern Warfare 2, Black Ops, Halo Reach, and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit.

i think there's a reason why c4e et al are recommending against this.

also, note that xval/secdata is not the only place that security data is stored.  so i wouldn't just put all my money on "SecData is Clean" via XVal.

gentle instruction for those coming here for a quick answer to a problem that does not yet have a clear solution: at a minimum, wait for LT+1.9 before going onto live; even more conservatively, wait for LT+1.9 instead of going back to LT+1.1.

i have a good question...
If the system update dont reflash OLD hitachi drives, and major nelson said that the new disc format works on ALL 360 models, then why is ppl claiming that HITACHI 360s dont gonna read XGD3 games (legit ones)???

Is the people idiot???

Thanks for posting that info. Some slight clarification though, if you could..

- Your OSIG is an MS28, and that drive currently has CFW on it but you arent using it because it doesnt work for w/e reason. However you installed this drive in order to proceed with the system update and upon doing so, you received an E66 upon boot thereafter.
- After receiving this error you installed you spoofed Hitachi drive and proceeded with the update again. The update installed fine with your Hitachi drive and you have no issues playing backups.

Correct me if I misunderstood anything. Thanks again for taking the time to post some relevant data.

Yep that's what I did. the MS28 was not reading a lot of games, and I really wanted to play Mortal Kombat (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) so I spoofed the hitachi (I followed a guide I found online and used JungleFlasher I think there's a guide there as well). Yes the M28 has CFW and would not update (E66). I was going to restore to OFW included with JF and use my dvd key until I installed my spoofed Hitachi again (still CFW) and updated. Update worked just fine, backups still playing fine, and I even logged on live with no problems (yet). Hope I helped. Hope even more I don't get banned (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Yeah I know it might not be safe and I wasn't suggesting other do as I have. I was just saying nothing has happened yet and other titles still work. I'll definitely update when something better comes along. I'm not too worried about the system getting banned though. I just use it to system link with my roommate when we don't want to buy two copies of a game.

Hi people,

Sorry for noob question, i have a lite-on 93450C and this post says LT+ not recommended, does that mean the 1.9 firmware should be avoided on my drive?

Thanks in advance, Jamie.

Seems 1.9 is back in progress.

LT+ v1.9 IN PROGRESS This version is for dashboard version 2.0.13146.0 – It will have no  XGD3 backup support but will be based on the latest firmware as updated  by the new dashboard update.

I noticed that too. It went from "completed" back to "in progress".  I wonder what happened.

Is it ok to take the update and return the xbox 360 to stock without having to reflash it with Original firmware and then simply use store bought copies of games on live until the latest firmware is released or should I just avoid updating at all if I cant reflash back to original firmware first?

thanks in advance for any replies and sorry if this question has been answered several times before.

Avoid updating! Only bad things can come of it, IMO. Unless you are in serious need of an online fix, just stay away.

Does that include flashing to OFW, then updating and playing only original disks? Or is this all just being ultra-cautious to prevent any sort of ban?

Also, I'd really like to know what the actual process is once 1.9 is out. Do we flash to OFW, update, then reflash with 1.9? Do we just update our 1.1 drives the flash 1.9? Or do we do 1.9 then update? I know the updates aren't even out yet, but it seems like there's no real consensus on how this is going to work.

-supposedly- you'll be able to leave your 1.1 on the drive, let the update do it's thing and -then- update to 1.9.

Something that came to mind!! maybe it's obvious but it seems like none talks about it!

- Lite-On v1.9 (74850, 83850v1, 83850v2, 93450): IN PROGRESS

Seeing that all FAT LiteOns get update to 02510C regardless of previous version, is C4E working on a single CFW_02510C or am I missing something here and we still need different firmware versions for different drives?

Cheers!  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/jester.gif)
